What actually happens?
Here’s the step-by-step:
You’ll fly into Bali, be scooped up by my driver, and whisked to a luxury villa. I’ll be there waiting with a smile.
Either that day or the next, we’ll head off for your pre-op tests: ECG, chest x-ray, and bloodwork (about 2 hours).
When we get you back to the villa, it’s up to you what you do over the next two days. My suggestion would be to relax so that you are not exhausted on the day of your operation. It is importantly that you rest up and eat well. I’ll also give you my proven "No Bali belly" protocol.
On surgery day
The nurse will give us a clear schedule (when to stop eating, drinking, and when to check in).
I will be with you during admission, help you through the admission questions and to get you up to your room.
Once in your room it is the time to just chill. Your room will have a TV and wifi.
The surgery time, usually at 6 pm, however it may vary. At this point the nurse will come and take you to the pre theatre room.
The operation will take around 3 hours and when you are done you will be taken back to your room and will continue to sleep until the morning. When you wake in the morning, the first face you will see will be mine (how lucky are you !) The pain relief is in your drip and so you will be without pain.
Recovery
I’ll stay in your hospital room overnight and update your loved ones so you can just rest.
Once discharged, we head back to the villa. You’ll recover in the recliner chair that I hire for you. You will have a bed but best to sleep upright for the first 3 nights - think old school business class.
The nurse will give you the medications, antibiotics, vitamins and pain relief all clearly marked. I will also video her explanation for your reference.
I’ll be with you in your villa, ensuring you eat, rest, and take your meds. Think of me as your quiet shadow — laptop in hand but always close if you need me.
The surgeon will see you again in 3-5 days. This first post operation appointment is where he swaps the bandages to a compression bandage that uses velcro to adjust the pressure. This is to be worn 24/7 for 14 days, then just at night for the next 14 nights. Then your next visit will be for stitch removal. Once the surgeon takes your stitches out, you can fly home.
The amount of nights I sleep in your villa is really up to you. I suggest approximately 7 days in my care. Two days before and five days after your procedure. I will also give you my direct contact details and will be available 24/7 if you need anything.
